Biography of Pastor Schjang
Theresa A. Schjang
Terry Schjang began her theological education at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO, and earned her Masters of Divinity degree from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College in Spanish and American Literature. Terry is a second career pastor who previously worked as an Account Executive in the Advertising world of New York City. In 2003, she “retired” from that first career, answering a sense of call to share God’s Word and Sacraments. Terry’s formational journey eventually led her to respond to a call in 2013 as pastor of New Beginnings, an ELCA worshipping community located inside the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility. She still serves as both pastor, and chaplain to the prison at large. Her four adult children live in London, New York City, Denver, and Oklahoma City. She and her husband, Kevin, live in Evergreen.
